Objective
The objective of the consulting service was the development of a new simplified methodology on road safety assessment using automated image analysis and two pilot road safety assessments of highways in Mozambique and Liberia using this methodology.

Description
The service included the following actions: establishment of a methodology on simplified road safety assessment based on analysis of each road characteristics attribution on road safety risk; establishment of the standard of video filming for the analysis of road safety; development of an automated image analysis and coding tool for the methodology developed.
The tool that was developed was then tested through two pilot assessments of national highways in Mozambique and Liberia.
