Activities of a new iRAP project in Mozambique are starting.

The main objectives of this assignment are:
- to undertake an iRAP specification assessment on Road N1/N10: Quelimane-Nicoadala-Namacurra in Zambézia Province (70 km) and the N1 road corridor from Maputo in the south to Pemba in the far north (2,471 km), with a total length of 2,541 km.
- undertake Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) assessments at 5 selected schools along the project corridor.
- to provide ANE (Administração Nacional de Estradas) staff with the training, equipment and software necessary for future independent in-house iRAP specification assessments to be conducted.
Our staff will be in Maputo shortly to start field activities.
FRED’s iRAP portfolio is thus expanded to almost 16,000 km of roads assessed (or under assessment) in 11 countries.
