Building a Resilient Future: FRED Engineering Partners with the World Bank in Nepal

FRED Engineering is undertaking a significant project in Nepal, focused on enhancing the climate resilience of the nation's road infrastructure. This initiative will help safeguard roads against the impacts of floods and landslides.

FRED Engineering is proud to announce a new partnership with the World Bank on a crucial road infrastructure resilience project in Nepal! This marks our first project in the country and underscores our commitment to building a more resilient future.

Our team will be developing a comprehensive framework to integrate climate resilience and disaster risk management into the planning and asset management of Nepal’s provincial and local road networks. This vital initiative will not only enhance the understanding of flood and landslide risks but also strengthen the capacity of federal, provincial, and local authorities to manage them effectively.

Over the next 12 months, our work will encompass:

  • Network-Level Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment: Identifying and analyzing key vulnerabilities.
  • Climate Resilience and Green Growth Strategy Development: Creating a roadmap for a sustainable future.
  • Design Guidelines for Climate-Resilient Roads and Bridges: Setting new standards for construction.
  • Capacity Building and Knowledge Dissemination: Empowering local stakeholders with the tools and expertise they need.

We are excited to contribute to increasing the resilience of Nepal’s road transport infrastructure and look forward to a successful collaboration!
