FRED Engineering has started a new fascinating project for the development of training curricula for the Regional Centre of Excellence on Road Safety, to be hosted at the National Institute of Transport (NIT) in Tanzania.
Funded by African Development Bank and managed by Tanroads, this project is the first ever centre of excellence fully dedicated to capacity building and empowerment of future road safety professionals in Africa.
The specific objective for the assignment include:
- Development of road safety training curricula and manuals for the learning programmes related to the five pillars of road safety.
- Development of certification frameworks to certify road safety professionals for each learning programme satisfying international best practices for professional certification.
- Conduct training of trainers, support First-Model training for identified learning programmes under each pillar of road safety and facilitate certification of trainers.
We are honored to contribute to build such a fundamental institution allowing in the next future to develop tailored African expertise on road safety.
FRED returns to Tanzania about a year after the end of the ‘Ten Step Plan’ project in which we carried out iRAP assessments and capacity building activities.
