FRED Engineering awarded another iRAP project in Africa

FRED Engineering has been awarded a project funded by the World Bank focused on implementing iRAP methodology on the Nekempte - Bure road in Ethiopia

FRED Engineering has been awarded another iRAP project funded by the World Bank Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) under Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative of Global Road Safety (BIGRS) 2020-2025 .

The main objective of this assignment is the preparation of technical road safety studies and their dissemination to inform the World Bank team on safety engineering measures that could save lives on selected roads in Ethiopia. This assistance is delivered through a series of technical activities comprising of iRAP baseline and Star Rating for Design (SR4D) assessments for selected roads, together with dissemination activities. These activities aim to ensure that projects roads include road safety best practices.

In particular, iRAP activities relate to the Nekempte – Bure road section of approximately 170 km, west of Addis Ababa.

We are very proud of this new success that consolidates FRED Engineering’s presence in sub-Saharan Africa and places us as a global reference in the implementation of iRAP protocols.
