FRED Engineering Secures Major Road Safety Audit Consultancy for World Bank’s Resilient Roads Project in Ecuador

FRED Engineering is proud to announce the award of a critical consultancy to enhance transport safety within the 'Resilient Rural Roads Project' in the Guayas Province, Ecuador.

In a key Joint Venture with Movidana, our team will implement international best practices to transform the provincial road network, focusing on saving lives and fostering resilient connectivity. This vital project is financed by the World Bank and awarded by the Provincial Government of Guayas.

A Commitment to Safer Infrastructure

The core of this mandate is to execute comprehensive Road Safety Audits across a substantial portion of the Guayas road network. Our joint expertise will cover the entire project lifecycle for the rehabilitation of seven critical road sections and the upgrading/construction of eight bridges.

Extensive Scope, Measurable Impact

Our consultancy services will be deployed in three crucial phases:

  1. Design Phase Audits: Scrutinizing the plans to integrate safety features before construction begins, ensuring that designs adhere to the highest global safety standards.
  2. Construction Phase Audits: On-site inspections to verify that safety measures are correctly implemented during execution.
  3. Operation Phase Audits: Evaluating the safety performance of the completed infrastructure to recommend final, life-saving corrective measures.

The primary objective is profound: to significantly reduce the number of severe injuries and fatalities across the province. By providing this detailed technical assistance and strengthening local technical capacity, FRED Engineering and Movidana are directly contributing to the economic and social well-being of the region through safe and resilient transport.
