FRED Engineering Secures Road Safety Observatory Tender in Tajikistan, Advancing Vision Zero Goal

FRED Engineering is proud to announce the award of a major tender for the Establishment of the Road Safety Observatory (RSO) in the Republic of Tajikistan. This vital project will revolutionize road safety data management in the country and is a natural continuation of our work on the National Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) for 2024-2034, which is now in its final stages of preparation.

FRED Engineering has been awarded a consultancy services contract for the Establishment of the Road Safety Observatory (RSO) for the Republic of Tajikistan. This project is funded by the World Bank under the Fourth Phase of the Central Asia Regional Links Program (CARs-4) and aims to significantly improve road safety management across the country.

The Road Safety Observatory will serve as the central hub for road safety data, encompassing three critical datasets: road accident data, road data, and safety performance data. The scope of work involves:

  • Developing and establishing a modern, GIS-oriented crash database within the Department of State Automobile Inspection (DSAI).
  • Designing and implementing the comprehensive, web-oriented Road Safety Observatory (RSO) software and database solution.
  • Providing support to the Client for the procurement and deployment of the necessary hardware and software equipment.

This new award solidifies our commitment to global road safety initiatives and builds directly upon our ongoing efforts in the region. We are pleased to confirm that we are currently finalizing the Development of a National Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) with an Action Plan (AP) for the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2034.

The completion of the NRSS will provide a long-term, strategic framework for road safety based on the UN Global Action Plan and the Safe System Approach. The implementation of the new RSO will then provide the essential, high-quality, and internationally recognized data management system required to effectively monitor and evaluate the success of this 10-year strategy.

FRED Engineering is proud to partner with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the DSAI on these interconnected projects, helping the country take decisive steps toward achieving its long-term road safety goals.
