FRED Engineering staff are in Albania to carry out the iRAP survey of more than 1,300 km of the national network operated by the Albanian Road Authority (ARA). The network under assessment, divided into four macro lots, has been maintained over the last 5 years using the innovative scheme of performance based maintenance contracts. The Monitoring Consultant for the four contracts is the Italian company IRD Engineering.
The iRAP survey takes place at the end of the maintenance period and will allow, in an objective manner, to assess improvements in road safety. The result will be expressed in terms of Star Ratings for vehicle occupants, motorcyclists, pedestrians and cyclists.
