FRED Engineering is implementing a “socially inclusive road safety awareness communication strategy” for the Project Implementation Management Unit of the Ministry of Works of Antigua & Barbuda.
Results of a social survey with road users has shown gaps in seatbelt use in the islands, leading to serious injury risks in case of road traffic crashes.
While the road safety awareness communication strategy is being designed, preliminary results have started to be used to communicate the importance of seatbelt use to reduce road traffic crashes injuries. Two articles have been published based on the survey’s results on The Daily Observer and on the Point Express during the 6th Global Road Safety Week promoted by United Nations.
