Objective

The main objective for this assignment was to design, implement and monitor the results of Road Safety Education and Public Awareness campaigns. The assignment took place in the schools and other public places located 87 villages. The education and awareness program aimed to improve the behaviour of students, parents and in general school personnel related to road safety.

Description

The assistance included the assessment of the current road safety situation at the selected project sites, the identification and prioritisation of high-risk behaviours and the design and running of education and public awareness campaigns.

The campaigns were focused on the promotion of road safety related issues, including speed limit compliance, sober driving, use of seat belts, non-use of mobile phones, safety of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users (including wearing light, reflective clothing; using flashlights; crossing of roads, use of sidewalks; non-use of mobile phones while walking; etc.).
